Grymm Ramblings

Not much to report folks. Things are busy here in Castle Walrus. The fridge is possibly possessed and seems insatiable despite how many chicken parmigiana’s we bake and shove in its frosty interior. Pretty sure the Fronkobo used the hot tub to make vegetable soup at some point recently too. That or the was a gruesome accident involving the tub filter and a tiny Eastern European woman pushing a produce cart. Wouldn’t be a problem save for the fact that I think Marron bribed our maid when she was here conducting that interview with us. That or our maid’s absence and the vegetable soup tub are a little more related than I’d like to consider.

I guess at this point, if you were to consider everything that’s happened in the comic so far this year as one huge story arc, we’re know about at the… climax I suppose? Kinda? Listen. I’m gonna level with you all. We don’t really abide by any strict rules here. This entire diner arc? Yeah. The initial plan was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what you’re seeing here. The entire previous idea scrapped like days before it was started. In fact, the original idea was to actually hold off on this part of the story for a couple of weeks while we did a thoroughly different kind of story. But that’ll come later.

The point is this: We’re weird, we don’t follow any set rules, we just go with what feels right and what we think is going to be most awesome. So we just end up working from real life. And you love us for it. Now give us some sugar.

Still at least another week and half of diner shenanigans to go.

There’s a lot of webcomics out there. Many of which make no excuses for the fact that their images are perpetually copy/pasted, stock imagery, palette swapped pixels, or stick figures. I’m not passing judgment on any of them. There’s always one creator out who spins pure, eye melting hyper mega gold from rancid shit. Thus, I cannot insult any method of creation.

I can say this though. My art’s better than the majority of what’s out there. And I’m still not giving it 100%. Sometimes I don’t do backgrounds. Sometimes I forget to double check clothing and accessories from page to page. I half-ass vehicles constantly. If we were seeing profit from these shenanigans, you’d be damn sure to get my full 100% at very least twice a week if not three times a week. But we’re not. But that doesn’t mean we’re going to sit on our haunches. After all, we’re not doing this for money. We’re doing this for you. Because you deserve more than amateurish character design talking about how much they want to play a video that doesn’t hit selves until next year. You deserve awesome entertainment. We’re here to deliver.

We also do this for us. That said, I’m going to be indulgent with this storyline. You’re going to get more background imagery to look at, but I’m getting the chance to draw horrible, questionable, festering things.

We’re big fans of Scooby-Doo, Mystery Incorporated here. Most of us anyway. The only person I can’t speak for is Marron. But she probably digs it too. Cause she knows awesomeness when she sees it. I’ve never even been a big fan of the franchise and even I dig this new show.

This comic is another prime example of us simply transcribing life into comic form and wrapping it up in neat consumable package for you. We find that real life conversations are often the funniest.

Obviously this is the start the latest story arc too! I shall say nothing on this topic. Save that it will be far shorter than Captain Thud, much more to the point, and a turning point in me injecting the art with a lot of elements I enjoying putting into works.

Hey there folks! We’re back! Sorry for the outage last Friday! It really was completely out of our hands. But we’re winding back up to full speed slowly. We’re not there yet, but we are in a place to get the comics done again, so hey! Awesomeness!

Thus ends The Revenge of Captain Thud. Friday, the next phase of the story begins. To be honest, the next storyline plotted was going to be something completely and gloriously different. But we decided against it at it would leave dangling plot threads for the entirety of the main cast. So we’re going to do something else. It’ll be fun! So in the meantime, reread the archives, tell your friends to get on board the Walrus express, and generally just keep being awesome.

Also, don’t be afraid to comment below! We’ve got a number of fun people commenting and actually kinda having conversation in the comment box. Lotsa of fun! This is the best you’re gonna get folks. We don’t have any intention of offering a community forum thingamajigger unless the number of chatty readers really skyrockets.

Huh. Well how about that. Napoleon the Floating Pygmy Cow is still hanging around back at the Walrus apartment.

Yeah, we’ve haven’t really done anything with him in almost a year. He’s still there. He’s still mysteriously floating. He still speaks an incomprehensible French-esque language. But hey, look at that adorable badger dressed up like a scientist! Isn’t he adorable!

Its entirely possible that Doc and Kaboodles have some kind of long standing SCIENCEFEUD. Its also possible that she keeps losing despite the fact that Kaboodles doesn’t even have thumbs.

Hmm… Things seem a bit… strained at Infernum headquarters don’t they? That’s like half of the special Anti-Walrus operatives dead without getting near their targets. Wonder of the other will fair… We’ll get to them. You’ll see.

Next week we’ll be checking in at the ol’ homestead and see how the apartment is fairing with Grymm, CreepKnight, Bowler, and Mirth all out and about.

Also, its pretty safe to say that NUXXOR! is well and truly dead now. Just putting that out there. Mac doesn’t half ass her angry killing sprees.

Remember the Revenge of the Nerds movies? Like, the general theme of them? How there was always like a big burly butch jock who saw nerds as like infestation on the world and wanted to nuke them from orbit? Mac would totally want to have angry, screaming, violent sex with that character, Then she’d smoke a cigarette after 7 and a half hours of riding the guy like a pony while he wonders how she got a gimp mask on him without him noticing. Then she’d jab the cigarette butt in a nerd’s eye and go out a kill Booger for looking at her feet a little too excitedly.

Because Mac Little hates filthy, overly stereotypical nerds. Especially when they serve her no purpose. That, and its possible that she’s a wee bit insane these days.

What should you take away from all this? That despite the fact that I’ve barely seen even the entirety of one of the Nerd movies, I’m still pretty sure I’ve guess dead on about Booger having a massive foot fetish and would love to see Mac in shiny, black strappy heels.

Now you’re all feeling slightly dirty and uncomfortable. My mission here is done. See you on Friday!
